Permanent License

LICENCE RENEWAL

  • Renewal of your license occurs every 2 years
  • Renewal fee: $110
  • Required contact hours: 30
  • If your license/certification has expired or lapsed, you will need to submit the  ELA Form within 5 business days of submitting your Renewal Application. 
  • Renewal of license may be accepted no more than 60 days prior to the expiration date of the license
  • To renew your license online, use the Online Renewal Application.

Licensure by Endorsement

Process

Permanent License

  1. Submit an application online and pay the fee
  2. Provide a background check with fingerprints. Instructions for fingerprinting can be found here.
  3. Request verification of licensure via Nursys from your original state of licensure. If this state does not participate in Nursys, you will need to contact that state’s BON and request verification be sent to the New Mexico BON via the Verification of Licensure form.

Temporary License

  1. If you wish to be issued a provisional license, please indicate this on your application.
  2. Temporary permits are valid for 6 months.
  3. Once all items have been received by the BON except the verification of licensure from a non-Nursys participating state, you may be issued a provisional license.
