Position : Dialysis nurse
Three (3) years’ nursing experience.
Two years' current or recent hemodialysis experience (within 6 months) required.
Prefer both hemodialysis and peritoneal experience.
Pediatic dialysis experience stongly preferred.
Travel experience at a children’s hospital strongly preferred.
Checking and recording patients’ vitals before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
Ensuring that hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments are administered to patients correctly.
Monitoring patients during dialysis treatment to identify any adverse reactions.
Preparing and updating nursing care plans.
Promptly notifying the appropriate medical practitioner of any problems that occur during dialysis treatments.
Working with the Dialysis Technicians to ensure that dialysis machines and equipment are set up correctly.
Teaching patients and their family members how to operate home dialysis machines should they decide on home dialysis therapy.
Educating patients on dialysis treatment options, kidney disease management, as well as suitable nutrition and exercise regimens.
Nursing degree, Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in nursing (or higher) Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date.
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association.
Dialysis certification preferred.
