The adult intensive care units (ICU) are comprised of four intensive care units for a total of 33 beds.
The Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CCU) cares for patients following myocardial infarction, specialized vascular interventional procedures, and cardiac arrest victims requiring specialized care and treatment in the acute phase of their illness.
Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) serves a patient population ranging from acute respiratory distress, pneumonia, kidney failure, numerous gastrointestinal disorders, strokes, and sepsis.
Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) provides immediate post-operative care for open heart patients, trauma patients with multiple injuries and head injury patients.
The Transition Intensive Care Unit (TICU) cares for patients who have stabilized but still require a great deal of nursing care and may also require lower dose continuous IV medications (Vasoactive drips, Precedex). Beds can easily be converted back to ICU level.
The ICU works as a collaborative multidisciplinary team with the providers, nurses, patient care champions, and all other caregivers to always provide excellent high-quality care for all our patients.
