Position : Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

  • Provide direct patient care as prescribed within standard practice guidelines and in full compliance with established Occupational Therapy protocols.
  • Select therapy activities to fit patients' needs and capabilities.
  • Monitor patients' performance in therapy activities, providing encouragement.
  • Maintain and promote a positive attitude toward clients and their treatment programs.
  • Evaluate the daily living skills or capacities of physically, developmentally, or emotionally disabled clients.
  • Aid patients in dressing and grooming themselves.
  • Assist Occupational Therapists with implementing, treatment plans designed to help clients function independently.
  • Obtain patient measurements to determine effects of treatments or for patient evaluations.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Observe patients during treatment to compile and evaluate data on patients' responses and progress and report to the Occupational Therapist
  • Observe and record patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior and maintain this information in client records.
  • Exhibits awareness of needs for diverse customer population.
  • Collaborate with members of multidisciplinary health care teams to plan, manage, or assess patient treatments.
  • Instruct, or assist in instructing, patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, or the care and use of adaptive equipment.
  • Confer with occupational therapy staff or others to review patient information for planning, modifying, or coordinating treatment.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals involved with the care of a patient.
  • Communicates and delegates pertinent patient information in a clear, concise manner.
