Position : Cath Lab Technologist

Cardiovascular Tech – Catheterization Lab 

Organizational Relationships -Receives direction from:  Cardiologists, Cath Lab Manager, Anesthesia, R.N. Circulator

Gives direction to: Radiology Tech

Works cooperatively with :Providers, Healthcare Professionals, and Allied Health Staff 

Position Overview:  Assists the physician in managing diagnostic and interventional procedures by scrubbing and managing the sterile field and by monitoring and reporting hemodynamic data. Performing X-ray duties, routine or delegated, according to the standards and policies of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.

Work Schedule: Flexible hours to cover all shifts and weekends as hospital needs demand, including call

Essential Functions: Minimum Education and/or Experience: Education -to Graduate of accredited school with continuing education in specialty area preferred, 2 years continuous clinical experience in the Cardiac Cath Lab, ? Experience with high risk PCI and EVARs. · 

Knowledge and Skills Required -Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively.  Must possess knowledge of the theories, techniques and practices of Cath Lab procedures and a basic understanding of cardiovascular anatomy; Know the definitions of fundamental computer terms related to applications software and desktop PC's;  Know how to open, read, and respond to email; Know how to manage electronic files 

 Environmental and Physical Requirements:  Work in a temperature controlled environment · Potential for contact with chemicals, blood borne pathogens, and exposure to infectious disease · Able to lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques several times during shift Licensure/Certification Required:  Current BLS and ACLS Certificatio

Current National RCIS Registration or registered Rad Tech
