Job Summary:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders. You will work closely with physicians to develop treatment plans and educate patients on proper breathing techniques. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct assessments and diagnostic tests on patients with respiratory problems
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient needs
- Administer medications and therapies to improve lung function
- Educate patients on proper breathing techniques and pulmonary hygiene
- Monitor and adjust ventilator settings for patients requiring mechanical ventilation
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Stay updated on the latest developments in respiratory care and treatment methods
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize patient care
- Knowledge of respiratory equipment and treatment modalities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in patient assessments and record-keeping
