Job Title: Charge Nurse LTC
Job Summary:
The Charge Nurse LTC is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring high-quality patient care in a long-term care facility. They collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans, administer medications, and monitor resident progress. The Charge Nurse LTC serves as a leader in the facility, providing guidance and support to staff members while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Supervise and direct nursing staff in providing care to residents
2. Assess resident needs and develop individualized care plans
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
4. Monitor resident progress and update care plans as needed
5. Communicate with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals about resident care
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
7. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
8. Provide support and guidance to nursing staff
9. Coordinate staff scheduling and assignments
10. Participate in staff training and development programs
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid nursing license
2. Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing
3. Strong leadership and communication skills
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills
6. Knowledge of nursing best practices and regulations
7. Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
8. CPR certification
9. Compassion and empathy for residents and their families
10. Strong organizational and time management skills
