Job Title: Registered Nurse - Long Term Care (RN LTC)
Job Summary:
The RN LTC is responsible for providing high quality nursing care to elderly residents in a long term care facility. This includes managing medications, monitoring vital signs, coordinating care plans with other healthcare professionals, and ensuring the well-being of residents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer medications and treatments to residents as prescribed by physicians.
2. Monitor and record vital signs and other health indicators.
3. Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
4. Provide emotional support and assistance to residents and their families.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
6. Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
7. Educate residents on health management and self-care strategies.
8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
9. Adhere to all regulatory requirements and standards of nursing practice.
10. Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. Prior experience in long term care or geriatric nursing preferred.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
5. Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards residents.
6. Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
7. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
8. Basic computer skills for electronic medical recordkeeping.
9. BLS certification required.
10. Ability to lift and move residents as needed.
