Job Title: RN Obstetrics
Job Summary:
The RN Obstetrics is responsible for providing quality care to patients in the obstetrics unit, including labor and delivery, postpartum care, and neonatal care. They must have a strong understanding of maternal and fetal health, as well as the ability to support and educate expectant mothers throughout their pregnancies.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assisting with prenatal examinations and monitoring fetal development.
2. Providing care and support to women during labor and delivery.
3. Monitoring the health of newborns and providing postnatal care.
4. Educating patients on prenatal and postnatal care.
5. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
6. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
7. Maintaining accurate patient records and documenting all care provided.
8. Participating in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices in obstetric care.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
3. Certification in obstetrics nursing (RNC-OB) preferred.
4. At least 2 years of experience in obstetrics nursing.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
7. Compassionate and caring demeanor towards patients and their families.
8. Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
