Job Title: Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (RN ED)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (RN ED) provides care and treatment to patients in the emergency room setting. They assess patients, administer medications, perform procedures, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and triage patients upon arrival in the emergency room
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
3. Perform procedures such as IV placements, wound care, and EKGs
4. Monitor and evaluate patient response to treatment
5. Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare team members
6. Educate patients and families on their conditions and treatment plans
7. Document patient care accurately and timely
8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures
9. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting
3. BLS and ACLS certification
4. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
5. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
