Job Title: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN)
Job Summary:
As a Psychiatric Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing mental health care services to patients with psychiatric disorders. You will work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of patients and support their recovery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting assessments to identify psychiatric issues and develop treatment plans
- Administering medications and monitoring their effectiveness
- Providing individual and group therapy sessions
- Developing therapeutic relationships with patients and their families
- Educating patients about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care
- Monitoring patients for changes in behavior and symptoms
- Participating in treatment planning meetings and case conferences
- Ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Knowledge of mental health conditions and treatment modalities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
