Job Title: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN)
Job Summary:
As a Psychiatric Registered Nurse, you will provide compassionate and specialized care to patients with mental health disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and create individualized treatment plans for patients suffering from various psychiatric conditions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status.
2. Administer psychotropic medications and monitor their effects.
3. Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the patient and their families.
4. Provide therapeutic interventions, including individual and group counseling.
5. Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
6. Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders and treatment options.
7. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.
8. Participate in discharge planning and coordinate follow-up care for patients.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
3. Certification in psychiatric-mental health nursing (PMHN) is a plus.
4. Prior experience working in a psychiatric setting is preferred.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
7. Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
8. BLS and ACLS certification required.
