Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders. You will work closely with physicians and nurses to develop treatment plans, administer respiratory treatments, and educate patients on proper breathing techniques.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conducting patient assessments to determine the appropriate treatment plan
2. Administering medications and treatments such as oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation
3. Monitoring and evaluating patient responses to treatments
4. Educating patients on proper breathing techniques and self-care practices
5. Collaborating with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care for patients
6. Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
7. Responding to emergency situations and providing life-saving interventions as needed
8. Keeping abreast of advancements in respiratory therapy practices and technologies
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT)
- CPR certification
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of respiratory care principles and practices
- Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
