Job Title: RN Oncology
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Oncology to join our team. The RN Oncology will provide care and support to patients undergoing cancer treatment, monitor their progress, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the best outcomes for patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing and a passion for helping patients navigate their cancer journey.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administer chemotherapy treatments and medications to patients as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions to treatments and provide appropriate interventions
- Educate patients and their families on cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and side effects
- Collaborate with physicians, oncologists, and other healthcare team members to develop individualized care plans for patients
- Assist in performing procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, and central line insertions
- Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in medical records
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families throughout their cancer treatment journey
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
