Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Long Term Care or Skilled Nursing Facility, you will be responsible for providing direct care and assistance to residents under the supervision of licensed nurses. Your main goal will be to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of all residents in your care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assisting residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating
- Taking and recording vital signs
- Turning and repositioning bedridden residents to prevent pressure ulcers
- Assisting with resident transfers and mobility
- Monitoring and reporting changes in residents' condition to the nursing staff
- Providing emotional support and companionship to residents
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents
- Following proper infection control procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active CNA certification in the state of employment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic CPR certification
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Compassion and empathy for the elderly and disabled
- Physical stamina to lift and move residents
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
