QUALIFICATIONS:
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
Graduate of an AMA approved Sonography program with current registration by ARRT (Sonography) or ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
Level II sonographer must hold ARDMS certification in two different areas.
Maintain current AHA CPR certification through Cape Fear Valley Training and Development department.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
3 year minimal experience required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Demonstrates technical skills and expertise in performing diagnostic and vascular sonography.
Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills.
Verbal and written skills required.
Demonstrates compassionate patient care.
Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development and understands the range of treatment needed for all age groups.
Provides care based on the patient’s developmental needs.
Experienced in the delivery of effective patient care and interacts effectively with patients of all ages.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to communicate orally.
Must have dexterity and visual acuity.
Must have mobility to assume awkward positions.
Must have mobility to respond to emergency situations.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to bend and lift 100lbs/carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Position may involve skin, eye, or mucous membrane contact with blood or other potentially infectious material.
