Immediate Need for a Licensed Occupational Therapist- Evaluate and Treat Acute Care Inpatient and Outpatient population (PRIMARILY OUTPATIENT)

Please note time off requests must be disclosed with initial submission to be considered for approval. Time off requested after the acceptance date will not be approved. Must be a team player, flexible and accustomed to fast paced environment. Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment. When submitting candidates include at least two references (one must be from current manager), a resume, and completed skills checklist/competency assessment.
DESCRIPTION: OT’s have to have experience in all areas HHC, OP, Acute. OT will plan and implement specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of Occupational Therapy.
Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of function/occupation and developmental disorders.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served
Oversees and insures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient
Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence
Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.
Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.
Is a patient advocate.
Other duties as assigned.
· CERTS: BLS required. PALS and ACLS preferred. BLS, (ACLS, and PALS if obtained) must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross. EPIC EMR experience preferred.
· SHIFTS: DAYS 8AM-5PM* Weekend and holiday - rotation * Shifts may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs between Inpatient and/or Outpatient. On call, weekends and holidays may be required. Travelers are first to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location. Traveling pairs are not guaranteed same schedules or same shifts.
· ORIENTATION: 1st week of the contract, not to exceed 40 total hours, and includes EPIC training. Scrubs required and provided by the facility.
