Job Title: CNA-LTC (Certified Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care)
Job Summary:
The CNA-LTC is responsible for providing direct patient care in a long-term care facility. They will assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, as well as monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes in condition to the nursing staff.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
2. Help residents with eating and drinking, ensuring they receive proper nutrition and hydration.
3. Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
4. Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
5. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a positive and caring environment.
6. Follow care plans and communicate with the nursing team about any changes in residents' condition.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including changing bed linens and disposing of waste properly.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of employment
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients safely
