Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med Surg unit is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assessing patient needs, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN in this role must be able to multitask, prioritize patient needs, and communicate effectively with patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing patient condition and implementing appropriate nursing interventions
- Administering medications and treatments as ordered by healthcare providers
- Collaborating with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educating patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatments, and medications
- Monitoring patient vital signs and response to treatments
- Documenting patient care accurately and timely
- Providing emotional support and comfort to patients and their families
- Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Med Surg or acute care setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize patient care
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
