Job title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Job Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing basic care to patients in healthcare facilities, under the supervision of licensed nurses. CNAs assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, and help patients with mobility and range of motion exercises. They also monitor vital signs, report any changes in patient status to the nursing staff, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Help patients with mobility and range of motion exercises.
3. Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
4. Report any changes in patient status to the nursing staff.
5. Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
6. Assist with meal preparation and feeding.
7. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
8. Follow infection control procedures.
9. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards of care.
10. Attend training and continuing education programs as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
3. Current certification as a CNA.
4. CPR certification.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
7. Compassion and empathy for patients.
8. Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
9. Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients as needed.
10. Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
