Job Title: Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA)
Job Summary:
As a Geriatric Nursing Assistant, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care to elderly residents in a long-term care facility. You will work under the supervision of licensed nursing staff to assist with daily living activities and ensure the wellbeing of residents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assisting residents with personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and toileting.
2. Monitoring and recording vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature.
3. Feeding residents and assisting with meal preparation.
4. Providing emotional support and companionship to residents.
5. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
6. Collaborating with nursing staff to develop and implement care plans.
7. Documenting patient care activities and reporting any changes in condition to supervisory staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of a state-approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program.
3. Current certification as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA).
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work well in a team environment.
6. Compassion and empathy for the elderly.
7. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients as needed.
