Job Title: Registered Nurse - Psychiatric (RN PSHY)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatric care, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care and support to patients with mental health disorders. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conducting thorough mental health assessments and developing individualized care plans.
2. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
3. Monitoring and documenting patients' progress and responses to treatment.
4. Providing emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
5. Collaborating with therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to ensure holistic care.
6. Educating patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
7. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
8. Following all hospital policies and procedures to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of employment.
2. Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
3. Certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing (PMHN) a plus.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
6. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
7. Compassionate and empathetic demeanor towards patients.
8. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
