Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Psychiatric
Job Summary: A Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatric care provides compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to patients with mental health disorders. They assess patients, develop treatment plans, administer medications, and provide support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct psychiatric assessments to determine the mental health needs of patients.
2. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
3. Administer medications and monitor the effects on patients.
4. Provide counseling and emotional support to patients and their families.
5. Educate patients and families about mental health disorders and treatment options.
6. Monitor patients for any changes in mental health status and report to the healthcare team.
7. Collaborate with therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
8. Document patient care and treatment plans accurately and timely.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing.
4. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
7. Knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment modalities.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy.
