Job title: Registered Nurse - Hospice
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Hospice provides compassionate end-of-life care to patients in their homes or in hospice facilities. They work closely with other healthcare professionals to manage pain and symptoms, provide emotional support to patients and their families, and ensure the patient's comfort and dignity during their final days.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs
2. Developing and implementing individualized care plans
3. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
4. Monitoring and reporting changes in patients' condition
5. Providing education and emotional support to patients and their families
6. Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
7. Ensuring patients' comfort and dignity at all times
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Active RN license in the state of practice
2. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in hospice or palliative care
3. BSN or higher degree in nursing
4. Certification in hospice and palliative care (CHPN) preferred
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
7. Compassion, empathy, and a strong desire to help patients and their families during difficult times
