Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Long Term Care facility, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and assisting residents with activities of daily living. You will work under the supervision of licensed nurses to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of residents in a long term care setting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist residents with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff
- Assist with feeding, bathing, and toileting residents
- Turn and reposition bedridden residents to prevent bedsores
- Assist with transferring residents to and from wheelchairs and beds
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Keep accurate records of patient care activities
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- Current certification as a CNA
- Good communication skills and empathy
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions
- Physical stamina to lift and move patients
- Compassion and patience when dealing with residents
- Knowledge of infection control procedures
