Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN ER)
Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN ER) is responsible for providing immediate and specialized medical care to patients in the emergency department. They assess patients, administer treatment, and collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. RN ERs must remain calm under pressure and be able to make quick, life-saving decisions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and triage patients upon arrival in the emergency department
2. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered by the attending physician
3. Monitor and document patient vital signs and response to treatment
4. Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
5. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and emotional support as needed
6. Adhere to hospital policies and protocols for patient care and safety
7. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on best practices in emergency nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency nursing
4. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to remain calm and focused during emergencies
8. Experience with electronic medical records and medical equipment
