Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating imaging equipment to obtain images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. You will work closely with physicians to provide accurate and precise images to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and administer radioactive drugs to patients for imaging procedures
- Operate imaging equipment such as PET scanners, gamma cameras, and SPECT machines
- Position patients correctly for imaging procedures and ensure their safety throughout the process
- Collaborate with physicians to interpret images, communicate results, and make recommendations for further testing
- Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient information, and radiation exposure levels
- Adhere to safety precautions and protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from radiation exposure
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure or certification to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment
