Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med Surg department is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to patients in a medical surgical setting. They assess patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for each patient.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing and recording patient vital signs and medical histories
2. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
3. Communicating with patients and their families about treatment plans and progress
4. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
5. Monitoring and managing patient symptoms and conditions
6. Educating patients on self-care and recovery techniques
7. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
8. Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures
9. Participating in continuing education and professional development activities
10. Providing emotional support to patients and families
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. BSN degree preferred
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical setting
4. BLS and ACLS certifications
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
7. Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
8. Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
9. Ability to work well in a team setting
10. Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients
