Job Title: Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA)
Job Summary:
As a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA), you will be responsible for providing basic care to elderly patients in nursing homes, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings. You will work under the supervision of nursing staff to assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient vital signs, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming
2. Help patients with toileting, feeding, and mobility
3. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff
4. Provide emotional support to patients and their families
5. Ensure patient safety and comfort at all times
6. Document patient care activities accurately and timely
7. Follow all healthcare regulations and protocols
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Completion of a state-approved GNA training program
3. Current GNA certification in the state of practice
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work well in a team setting
6. Compassionate and caring attitude towards elderly patients
7. Basic computer skills for documenting patient care
