Job Title: RN Psychiatric Nurse
Job Summary:
The RN Psychiatric Nurse is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental health disorders. They work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients in psychiatric facilities or hospitals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to determine psychiatric needs.
2. Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
3. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
4. Administer medications and provide education on medication management.
5. Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms.
6. Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including therapists, social workers, and psychiatrists.
7. Educate patients and families on mental health conditions and treatment options.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in nursing
- Certification in psychiatric-mental health nursing preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Knowledge of mental health assessment tools and treatment modalities
