Job Description

Job Title: RN Oncology

Shift: Days 8hrs| Duration: 13 weeks | Location: Coos Bay, OR

Job Summary:

The RN Oncology is responsible for providing care and support to patients receiving treatment for cancer. This includes administering chemotherapy, managing symptoms and side effects, and coordinating care with other medical professionals. The RN Oncology plays a crucial role in helping patients through their cancer journey and ensuring they receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Administering chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed by oncologists

- Monitoring patient's vital signs and overall health during treatment

- Educating patients and their families about treatment options and side effects

- Collaborating with other healthcare team members to create comprehensive care plans

- Providing emotional support and counseling to patients and families

- Assisting in procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures

- Documenting patient care and treatment outcomes accurately and timely

Qualifications and Skills:

- Valid RN license in the state of practice

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred

- Certification in Oncology Nursing (ONC) highly desirable

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
