Job Title: Echo Tech
Shift: 8hrs Days |Duration: 13 weeks |Location: Sioux City, IA
Job Summary:
The Echo Tech is responsible for performing echocardiogram procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of cardiovascular conditions. They must operate imaging equipment, analyze the images produced, and provide preliminary findings to the healthcare team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform echocardiogram procedures as ordered by physicians.
2. Prepare patients for procedures and explain the process to them.
3. Operate and maintain imaging equipment to ensure accurate results.
4. Analyze images to identify abnormalities or conditions requiring further assessment.
5. Provide preliminary findings to physicians for interpretation and diagnosis.
6. Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of information.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
8. Stay current on advancements in echocardiography technology and techniques.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate degree in cardiovascular technology or related field.
2. Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in performing echocardiogram procedures.
4. Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Attention to detail and accuracy in interpreting images.
8. Proficiency in using echocardiography equipment and software.
