Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Shift: Day (Mon-Fri)
Location: PAGOSA SPRINGS, CO
Duration: 13 week
Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sterility, and proper handling of medical equipment and instruments used in healthcare facilities. They play a vital role in maintaining a safe and sterile environment to prevent infections and promote patient safety.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Inspect, clean, decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment
- Follow strict protocols and guidelines to ensure proper sterilization techniques are used
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the availability of sterile instruments for surgical procedures
- Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment and report any issues or malfunctions
- Adhere to infection control protocols and regulations to prevent healthcare-acquired infections
- Monitor inventory levels of sterile supplies and place orders as needed
- Provide training and support to healthcare staff on proper sterilization techniques and equipment handling
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) preferred
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment, and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Knowledge of infection control practices and regulations
