Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (RN ED)
SHIFTS: 7pm-7am
Duration: 13 week
Location: Viroqua, WI
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a fast-paced and high-stress environment. The RN ED works closely with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of emergency care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Triaging patients based on severity of conditions
- Administering medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Performing patient assessments and providing interventions as needed
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
- Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records
- Adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Providing education and support to patients and their families
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
- BSN or higher degree in nursing
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
- Prior experience in an emergency department preferred
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
