Job Summary:
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in providing direct patient care while assisting licensed healthcare professionals in various medical settings. CNAs are responsible for helping patients with activities of daily living, monitoring patients' vital signs, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for those in their care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assisting patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Feeding and assisting patients with meals
- Monitoring and recording patients' vital signs
- Providing emotional support and companionship to patients
- Turning and repositioning bedridden patients to prevent bedsores
- Assisting with medical equipment and procedures as needed
- Maintaining a clean and organized patient environment
- Reporting any changes in patients' conditions to the nursing staff
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- Current certification as a CNA
- Good communication skills and a compassionate demeanor
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients as needed
