Job title: RN Outpatient Oncology
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient oncology team. The RN will be responsible for providing nursing care to cancer patients in an outpatient setting, including administering chemotherapy, monitoring patient vital signs, and educating patients and their families about treatment options and side effects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing and be dedicated to providing high-quality care to cancer patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administer chemotherapy and other treatments as prescribed by the oncologist
- Monitor patient vital signs and recognize any signs of complications
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and symptom management
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care for patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families
- Stay up to date on the latest developments in oncology nursing practice
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing
- Certification in oncology nursing (OCN) preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
