Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Long Term Care (LTC) is responsible for providing quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care facility. They collaborate with healthcare teams to create individualized care plans and ensure the overall well-being of residents. The RN also monitors and administers medications, provides medical treatments, and assesses residents' health status.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess residents' health status and develop care plans.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
3. Monitor and record residents' vital signs.
4. Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
5. Educate residents and their families on healthcare procedures and preventive care.
6. Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate care and ensure residents' needs are met.
7. Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make adjustments as needed.
8. Provide emotional support to residents and their families.
9. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
10. Adhere to all nursing standards and protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS certification.
3. Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in long-term care.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
6. Knowledge of geriatric care and common age-related health issues.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
9. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
