Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Long-Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Long-Term Care facility, you will be responsible for providing direct care to residents, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to residents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and eating
2. Monitor resident's vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff
3. Help residents with mobility and transfers
4. Keep residents' rooms clean and organized
5. Assist with meal preparation and feeding
6. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
7. Follow care plans and communicate any concerns to the nursing team
8. Document all care provided accurately and in a timely manner
9. Follow infection control procedures to ensure the safety of residents and staff
10. Participate in continuing education and training programs to maintain certification and stay updated on best practices in LTC.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of employment
3. Previous experience in a long-term care facility preferred
4. Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
5. Compassionate and patient demeanor
6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
7. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
8. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures
9. Ability to lift and transfer residents safely
10. CPR certification required
