Job title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
Job Summary:
The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) is responsible for providing patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. They collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes. The OR RN also assists with surgical procedures, monitors patients' vital signs, and maintains a sterile environment in the operating room.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
2. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals
3. Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia levels during surgery
4. Assist with surgical procedures and ensure proper sterile technique
5. Administer medications and IV fluids as needed
6. Educate patients and families about the surgical process and post-operative care
7. Document patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
8. Maintain a clean and organized operating room environment
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Minimum of 2 years of OR nursing experience
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
6. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
7. Ability to collaborate effectively with the surgical team
8. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and equipment
