Job Title: Long Term Care Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Job Summary:
As a Long Term Care CNA, you will be responsible for providing direct care to residents in long-term care facilities. You will work under the supervision of licensed nurses to assist residents with activities of daily living, maintain a clean and safe environment, and ensure the physical and emotional well-being of residents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assisting residents with personal hygiene tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
2. Helping residents with eating and drinking, and monitoring their food and fluid intake.
3. Providing basic nursing care, such as taking vital signs and assisting with medical treatments.
4. Assisting residents with mobility, such as transferring them from beds to wheelchairs.
5. Ensuring residents' comfort and safety by responding to their needs and addressing any concerns.
6. Documenting all care provided and reporting any changes in residents' condition to nursing staff.
7. Maintaining a clean and organized living environment for residents.
8. Building positive relationships with residents and their families to provide emotional support.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
3. Current certification as a CNA in the state of employment.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work well as part of a team.
6. Patience and compassion when working with elderly or disabled individuals.
7. Physical stamina to assist residents with lifting and moving.
8. Knowledge of infection control practices and safety procedures.
9. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
