Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (RN-ICU)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse - ICU (RN-ICU) will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. They will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess the condition of critically ill patients in the ICU
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
3. Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, respiratory therapists, and social workers
4. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and care instructions
5. Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as needed
6. Document patient care and observations accurately and timely
7. Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment
8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. 1+ years of experience in an ICU setting preferred
4. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
7. Proficiency in using electronic health records and medical equipment
