Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will be responsible for providing direct patient care in a healthcare setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Your primary role will be to assist patients with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assisting patients with personal hygiene tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and toileting
- Turning and repositioning bedridden patients to prevent pressure sores
- Helping patients with mobility challenges to move around safely
- Taking and recording patients' vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
- Assisting with feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves
- Providing emotional support and companionship to patients
- Reporting any changes in patients' conditions to the nursing staff
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Following all healthcare regulations and safety standards
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Compassion and empathy for patients
- Physical stamina and strength to assist patients with mobility challenges
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
