Job Description

Job: Medical Technologist 
Job Location: Pagosa Springs, CO
Contract: 13 Weeks (Extension Available)
Shift: 7 day on/7 day off rotation. Each night shift is 6p-6a with a 30-minute lunch
Guarantee: 36 hours a week
Pay Rate: $2200/week local and $2400/week for travel

Responsibilities:

Performs technical analytical procedures requiring knowledge and techniques in areas such as hematology, chemistry, special chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, serology, urinalysis, coagulation and phlebotomy as ordered by the physician. Performs routine and special laboratory tests in accordance with written requisition of physician. May perform clinical test in and one or combination of areas of specialization. Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting for laboratory instrumentation. Performs, records and participates in evaluation of Quality Control for tests conducted. Performs all work in accord to the mission, vision and values of Pagosa Springs Medical Center. 

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Doctorate, master’s, bachelor's or associate degree in laboratory sciences with completion of approved internship in Medical Technology required.
• Must have a minimum experience of five years as a clinical technologist/scientist; must have knowledge of basic medical technology; prefer experience as a generalist from a large hospital facility. 

Special Skills:

• Licenses or Certifications: MLT (ASCLS) or MT (ASCLS) or equivalent. Medical Technologist – ASCP or AMT. Basic computer knowledge.
• Shift Information: 7 day on / 7 day off rotation. Each night shift is 1800 - 0600 with a 30-minute lunch.
• EMR: Cerner experience mandatory.
