Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients with breathing disorders. They will assess and treat patients with a variety of conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and COPD. The Respiratory Therapist will also be responsible for operating and maintaining respiratory equipment, conducting diagnostic tests, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform diagnostic tests to evaluate the respiratory function of patients
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with breathing disorders
- Administer medications and therapies to patients to improve breathing
- Monitor and adjust ventilator settings for patients in critical care settings
- Educate patients and their families on proper breathing techniques and the proper use of respiratory equipment
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Current state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
