Job Title: Telemetry Nurse, PCU
Job Summary:
As a Telemetry Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will be responsible for monitoring patients' vital signs, interpreting telemetry readings, and providing care for patients who require intermediate intensive monitoring. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients in the PCU.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and interpret telemetry readings to assess patient's condition.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
4. Educate patients and their families on their condition and treatment options.
5. Document all patient interactions, medications administered, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record.
6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
7. Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients in the PCU.
8. Provide emotional support and assistance to patients and their families during difficult times.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certification.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in telemetry or critical care nursing.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
6. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
