Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing and treating patients with breathing disorders, including asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and other respiratory conditions. They work in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and provide respiratory care to patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Evaluate patients’ lung capacity and respiratory functions
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with respiratory disorders
- Administer medications and breathing treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and adjust ventilator settings for patients on life support
- Educate patients on how to manage their condition and improve lung health
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
