Job Title: RN-Operating Room
Job Summary:
The Operating Room Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe and effective patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The RN-Operating Room works closely with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure that the operating room runs smoothly and that patients receive the highest quality care possible.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess patients' preoperative and postoperative condition and communicate findings to the surgical team.
2. Assist with surgical procedures by providing patient care, setting up equipment, and ensuring sterile techniques are followed.
3. Monitor patients during surgery and provide emotional support as needed.
4. Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the surgeon.
5. Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.
6. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient operating room environment.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certification.
3. Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
7. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
