Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Waimea, HI
Job Summary:
A Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in the operating room by assisting surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures. They are responsible for setting up the operating room, preparing and sterilizing instruments, and ensuring proper patient positioning. Additionally, Surgical Technologists may be responsible for managing surgical equipment and supplies during the procedure.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare and set up the operating room for surgical procedures.
2. Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments and equipment.
3. Assist surgeons and nurses during surgeries by passing instruments and supplies.
4. Maintain a sterile field during procedures to prevent infections.
5. Monitor and manage surgical equipment and supplies throughout the procedure.
6. Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
7. Dispose of used supplies and clean the operating room after procedures.
8. Maintain knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
3. Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work well as part of a surgical team.
7. Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
8. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment.
9. Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
10. Must adhere to strict safety and infection control protocols.
