Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Shift Day (Mon-Fri) | 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Pagosa Springs, CO
Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing medical instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and sterile environment for patient care. They work closely with operating room staff and other healthcare professionals to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Receive, clean, and disinfect medical instruments and equipment
- Inspect instruments for damage and functionality
- Assemble instrument trays and prepare them for sterilization
- Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes
- Communicate effectively with surgical team members regarding instrument needs
- Follow all infection control and safety protocols
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Sterile Processing or relevant experience
- Knowledge of infection control practices and OSHA regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
