Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant - LTC
Shift: Day shift (7:00 am to 7:30 pm)
Location: Wrangell, AK
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) working in a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Your primary role will be to assist residents with daily activities, including bathing, grooming, and eating. You will also be responsible for monitoring patients' vital signs, administering medications, and documenting patient progress.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Help residents eat and drink, ensuring they receive proper nutrition
- Take vital signs and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff
- Administer medications as directed by the nursing staff
- Help patients with mobility issues move around the facility safely
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for residents
- Document patient care activities and observations in the medical record
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience working in a long-term care facility is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
